Return to Perthshire (December 2008)

After the volunteering week, there was an invitation to the Christmas ceilidh in December – held in a village hall in Ballinluig, just south of Pitlochry.

We stayed at a B&B in Pitlochry run by a sister of a friend and spent Saturday wandering about in the snow. Went to the ceilidh on Saturday night, then did a short walk in the woods on Sunday before heading home.

It had snowed quite a bot in the previous week, so it was great to see the countryside with patches of snow. They even had some reindeer in Dunkeld town centre. It made for some slippery walking though, there was a lot of ice on the paths (yes, it was pretty cold too).
