We spent a week on the Moray Coast in the village of Findochty
We had a short break in the Lake District, by Coniston Water.
We did a 7 day walking holiday with “Onfoot Holidays” in Bohemia (Czech Republic) with a few days in Olomouc beforehand and a few days in Prague afterward.
Time we had a holiday in Scotland, so we went for a week on the Ardnamuchan Peninsula, only a few hours north-west of Edinburgh and the most westerly point on the UK mainland…
It was time for me (Morag) to have another stint of national service (ie. Scottish National Trust) volunteering…………
We went back to Australia for a visit in December 2009. Morag flew out on 30th Nov and spent some time in Melbourne and a week or so travelling round Tas, then trips to Sydney and Canberra.
Mal flew out on 4th Dec and spent a week relaxing in Paynesville. After that it was a joined up holiday in Appollo Bay and then a week in Devonport over Christmas. We returned home on New Years Eve but were unable to stay up till midnight to welcome in the new year.
You can see the photies here There are also some good photies on Frank and Sylvias blog
When we got home to Scotland we flew in over Glasgow to a snow covered countryside, more snow than we’ve ever seen in 20 years of living in the UK, see the photies here
We had a week relaxing, firstly in the coastal town of Ribadeo, just across the border into Galicia to the west of Asturias. After than we headed to Oviedo in Asturias for a couple of days, then caught up with the van der Peets and Majerniks (yes them again) for a week of walking in the Picos de Europa National park.
Our friends the van der Peets and the Majerniks were progressing on the Coast-to-Coast walk, we took a weekend trip to Orton to surprise them.
Morag went to Italy for two weeks with Jen and Yvonne
After the volunteering week, there was an informally arranged ceilidh that we both went to.
